AL Khayyam

Omar Khayyam (1048-1131) was a Persian polymath who made significant contributions to various fields, including mathematics, astronomy, and poetry. While he is perhaps best known for his poetry, particularly his Rubaiyat (quatrains), he also made important advancements in mathematics and astronomy. In mathematics, Khayyam is known for his work on the classification and solution of cubic equations, which laid the foundation for later developments in algebra. He also made contributions to geometry, including the study of parallel lines. In astronomy, Khayyam was involved in the reform of the Persian calendar and made more accurate measurements of the length of the year. His work on the calendar led to the creation of the Jalali calendar, which was more accurate than the Julian calendar. While Khayyam was a Muslim scientist, its important to note that he was a polymath who made contributions in various fields, and his work was not limited to religious matters. He is remembered for his intellectual achievements and his poetic talents, and his legacy continues to be celebrated today
