𝗜 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆. She said she watched the video on my YouTube channel where I spoke about my journey through depression and all the darkness that festered inside me for years. 
She said she watched it last night and cried. 🥺
Now, I want to highlight here that my mom is not a fluent English speaker. She understands bits and parts of it, things she taught herself as she single-handedly raised three children; with my father usually away on some Naval expedition. 
So, my mom watched my video and cried. Not because she understood everything I said, but because she comprehended every flicker of my eyelids, every sigh and all the silence inside me. ❤ 
I wanted to talk about this, because something I read today also emphasized this feeling in me. 
In my current read, 𝗔 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗛𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗯𝘆 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗶 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵, the first chapter opens with these lines: 
"𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒂 𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍  𝒏𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒑𝒂𝒊𝒏... 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒔𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒆𝒛𝒆𝒔 𝒂 𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒅. 𝑰𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒊𝒕 𝒐𝒓 𝒅𝒐 𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒅𝒊𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒆? 𝑰𝒔 𝒊𝒕 𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒂𝒍 𝒐𝒓 𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒕 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒄𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒅𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒂𝒈𝒐𝒏𝒚?"
And this just resonated so much with me today.   😊🙌❤
Even though I am a cat momma, I have not experienced the journey of motherhood, of nurturing a life inside me and then birthing it. Of being so inexplicably attached to a being long after the umbilical cord has been cut. 
This is why, I am so grateful that I can understand what it feels like because of books like these. And, of course, because of how much I love my mom. ❤
